| If that's the case, and assuming I understand you, then a much more fluid system for territorial expansion is necessary in addition to trade agreements. What happens if most of the nations, because there aren't that many RPing to begin with, end up with more or less the same resources? Trade is useless in that case. | |

| If everyone gets the same resources, which would be a worst case scenario, then we can redo one of everyones resources or soemthing to mix it up a bit, and say that the nations ran out of that and tappen into something new in order to justify it.
The same thing could happen if we dont use the system, take oil for example, most people are going to just say that they have it so that they can wage a war easier. And if not then we will have people just changing their resources willy-nilly in order to have something that n one else has, which is unreal and GodModding in a way...
A worst case scario such as the one mentioned is very rare, and with a RNG and around 15 resources that I am sure we can come up with, then yes, some people will have the same resources, but I doubt that everyone will have food and uranium for example everyyytimee...

| Again, I just don't think it's necessary. Even if a nation itself does not have oil it will trade for it. As long as it saves some, which all nations do, you can wage a war relatively well with just those emergency supplies of oil and gas.
We all, as RPers, need to be aware of such godmodding and make sure that the offender is punished. End of story. Besides, if certain territories hold important resources you don't have you'll see a bunch of randomly scattered territories being claimed.

| no....im not saying put the resources on the map, im saying once a person claims a plot, randomly select a number and that number would be a resource that they would get | |

| I have a few questions to bring up in regards to posts made in "Cobalt Sun".
1) How far in the future, relatively (I know Canton mentions the year 2071), is this taking place?
2) With the basic agreement we have now about nukes, is the level of technology in "Cobalt Sun" compatible with the starting point we are using for our RPing. In other words, is this technology too advanced?
3) If this is rather advanced technology (technology we certainly do not have IRL), are you gentlemen planning on RPing a general progression of time? If this is your starting point, what will the future entail in terms of technology?
I ask these only because such talk of "cyborgs", "cryogenics", "Mass Acceleration Cannons", "Proton Beams", etc. are conjuring up memories of a dead RP forum we used to inhabit. I don't mean to be antagonistic, but I am concerned that we are "starting" our new RPing world with such a high mark on technology.
Don't get me wrong, I think futuristic tech can be fun and, if used well, helpful to an RP. My concern is that we will be dependent on this tech from the very beginning instead of building up to it and utilizing it down the road.
I'd like if people besides Metz and SM contribute to the discussion.

| im all for the future...but i think we should set a official date..like 2075 or something but in a couple months RL time we should up the date a yr...just to show progression. as for the "Golden Age", I think that I will keep my fact file the same as the previous forum, just cuz i like what developed in my nation and hyrule itself. i learned a lot coming to this region way back when and i want to keep my memories of my nation where they belong, in the fact file. | |

| My nation is also based around 2075-2080. I don't know what time has been agreed on, but, as in the NS forums, I have modified my nation for modern times as well as the future. I have three nations, technically, in the NS forums: a modern tech one with a ridiculously big army; a post-modern tech nation (my 2075-2080 nation) with a small army but heaps of technology; and I have a far-future tech nation, which is basically a ragtag group of space station dwellers with an average-sized fleet of powerful ships. It all depends on the era the specific roleplay is set in. (I don't have a past tech nation, since I have no real knowledge in pre-WW1 weaponry and life style) | |
