| OOC : This roleplay is CLOSED!
Lieutenant Tompkins stood under the shelter of the command tent. The torrential rain outside was seeping in under the walls, and the normally placid river running through his small camp could be heard from a mile away, raging its way down the side of the mountain to feed the fertile lands of Hyrule.
"Lieutenant!". From outside came storming in his second in command, Private Davis, and the Overseer of the operation, Light Eternal.
"The Overseer has just recieved word from the Leader. We are to begin the operation immediately".
"We're not ready" replied the lieutenant, with a thin veneer of rage - the Overseers, with their pretentious titles, always riled him. "I don't care what your so-called religion says about obeying the Leader of The Dawn, but I need more men. We can't spy on every country in Hyrule with -"
"Silence." The Overseer whispered and Tompkins wisely shut his face.
"The operation will proceed. You will have your targets shortly - the fools below, in that pathetic Hyrule, are to issue press releases condemning terrorist groups within the region - the Resistance and such others. They don't know about us yet, but our friends in the Resistance are eager to aid us in our crusade, and they want something in return. And so the operation will proceed as planned."
"Yes, my Lord". The lieutenant bowed low as Light Eternal left the room.
"Davis, assemble your squad, and tell the other squad commanders to assemble theirs and meet me in the proving ground. No questions - I'll explain once our targets come through."
As Davis left the room, Tompkins offered a small prayer to the leader, facing towards HQ. Tomorrow, the Dawn would break.

"...Another four percent increase in industrial capacity is expected by the end of this year."
"Our trade agreement with Metz?"
"Comrade Lukin, Metz's shipments of iron ore have been most useful in contributing to this increase. There have been five new steel work factories created in just the last month, more are scheduled for completion soon."
"The military..."
"The Defense Ministry has plans to upgrade or replace most of the airforce technology we currently have. We...still...lag behind most of the other countries of Hyrule."
"That will change comrade; have no fear."
"What of 'White Dawn'?"
The room, the daily meeting place of the Polituro, fell silent for the first time all morning. The briefing was nearly finished with no interruption or pause. Until now.
"They have again requested new shipments of light arms and a handful of heavy vehicles. We..."
"Did they thank us for the last shipment?"
"Yes, Comrade Lukin."
"Are they sympathetic to our cause of a world-wide workers' revolution?"
"They have said 'yes', but we shall see..."

| As Edward Elric sent out his news statement confirming his trade agreement with Metz, his secretary read him his daily notes. 'You have a meeting tomorrow with the leader of the Tallnians, you have a message Great AngloChinaLand, you need to pick up..." "Whoa, what does the message say?" "'There is a rebel faction against the new Hyrulian nation, Great AngloChinaLand, called White Dawn, assistance requested, please reply STAT.'" "I need to get right on this. Thank you, that will be all." as his secratary walked away, Edward rubbed his forehead. "In such a time of peace, too. Great." | |

| MEMO From the desk of the Great Leader of AngloChinaLand
To all citizens and free nations in Hyrule, to all supporters of peace and justice, thank you for reading.
Yesterday, I was informed that an illegal arms shipment was detected in the north of our country. Whilst the majority of the shipment escaped, one man lived to tell the tale. We could not find out where the weapon's had been sent from, but he informed us that they were bound for a small village in the mountians. Having sent a squad up there, they are yet to report in.
We believe that a splinter political group, called White Dawn, has been massing in the northern mountains of ACL. We denounce this 'rebellious' group, and ask all nations to stand with us in this, our time of need. I understand that, as a new nation in the region I have no political sway, but this group threatens us ALL, and if joined with other rebellious groups could even spell the end of Hyrule as we know it.
Please, declare your support for Great AngloChinaLand, and me, and let these rebels know that we are not to be cowed!
PRIVATE MEMO
To all my fellow leaders.
We do not yet know anything of this White Dawn, and all of that previous propaganda was just that, propaganda. We cannot have a panic on our hands.
I need your support to create a joint team to head into the mountains of ACL and discover more about these rebels. It is to be a quiet job, with one representative from each country. We suggest you send only your best.
ACL pledges its support against any terrorist activity in Hyrule, and will gladly send soldiers to any point of conflict. All we ask is for your aid.
To clarify - there is a rebel faction against the new Hyrulian nation, GreatAngloChinaLand. We request your assistance in this matter. Please reply ASAP.

| His squad had assembled at the parade ground, as the Overseer had asked. Well, ordered would be more like it - you couldn't refuse an Overseer.
"Ok gentlemen, today the Dawn will shine through the fog around the heads of the fools below. We have a new weapons shipment coming in from our friends in the Soviet Union, or at least we hope so. In order to keep up the illusion that the Union is our enemy, we must assault one of their military bases. It is a small one, but it will send a clear message. We have assurances that the Union has removed any important personnel from the base, so we will kill all on sight. As soon as the weapons arrive, we attack. For now await further orders. Dismissed!"
The men moved away in small groups, curving away from the figure of the Overseer, taking deliberate paces towards the Lieutenant.
"Thank you, Tompkins. The true purpose of this mission must not be revealed to anyone - not even to the Leader, should he ask".
Tompkins' heart raced ahead. The Leader did not know about the operation?
"My lord Overseer, if we are acting outside the Leader's regulations, then surely-"
"Surely... what, Tompkins?" hissed Light Eternal, and his ceremonial sword slipped out of its scabbard. "You will follow orders - this mission is critical to the success of the Dawn, but the Leader percieves that we need these Russians. With the information we gather at that base, we can... well, you will find out."
The Overseer stalked away, blade in hand. Tompkins felt a shiver of disbelief, but quickly suppressed it. Whatever they were doing, and not even he fully knew, he had to obey the Overseer if he was to survive.
"So... we wait for the Russians".

| "There's a bad smell in the air, a bad taste. I don't like it, Sir - these mountains are dangerous"
John Greaves stood next to the unnamed government representative on his balcony and looked north, towards the mountains.
"This whole mission is wrong. We don't know who we're up against and so far, I've only got one other person coming with me, and a commie at that".
"There is no need for racism, Greaves. The Soviets have been our allies ever since we came to Hyrule. And while it is difficult to trust anyone I expect you to trust your teammates. You are the best we have, Greaves. Hundreds of thousands of pounds have gone into creating you".
And Greaves was a magificent creation. Standing 5'10" and wearing dark-framed glasses, you wouldn't have guessed it, but within his mind was lodged years of training and combat experience. He blended in, but was deadly when the time called for it - the perfect spy. Wiry muscles understated his strength, and he had spent most of his spare time working on small-scale tactics, even writing a book which had financed his only child's entire life. Yes, Greaves was, if anything, too perfect.
"You'll be heading the team. We are expecting a man from the Union, and hoping for more. If worst comes to worst, it'll just be us against the Dawn."
"Sir, I don't like the Russians. They may be our allies, but they'll stab us in the back, mark my words".
"Yours is not to reason why, Greaves. The Russians are allies. The Dawn are enemies. You are to gather information on our enemies, and if it leads to out allies, which it WON'T, then the GOVERNMENT will deal with it, not you".
There was his flaw - arrogance.
"I'll get my gear."
As Greaves walked away, the mysterious politician walked slowly back to his security team. "Great Leader, the chopper is waiting".
MK looked out one last time over the military base, from the balcony of John Greaves. He looked towards the mountains, and felt a shiver of apprehension.
"Excellent. Let us get going at once."

King Gavin the II had recieved wod about this rebel group known as the "White Dawm". At first he showed a little concern, however he had a message sent to the Elephant Army currently pursuing "The Resistance" and was informed that they were, 'On their heels' and about to break. He then wanted to only focus n them for the time being, and would do his best to remain neutral and study the motives and concerns of other nations that would surely be exposed from this event.
King Gavin the II decided he would remain silent and neutral, sending no letter back, he wanted to wait and see if this would all blow over, hoping that they had been cought early and couldnt gain any power.

IC: <Message for Greaves, Unlisted. Message reads - the Kingdom has declined to aid you in the job for now, they will inform us more in one week. Meet with the Russian and plan your next move>
Greaves stared at the phone in his hand, before casually removing the simcard and then hurling the phone, with all the force he could muster, at the nearest wall.
"This mission just went from bad to worse... a whole week? A whole week in a rebel nest with just two guys? Damn."

| The Soviet armaments shipment was right on time. Two transport trucks full of light and medium weapons were escorted by two APCs up to the position of the White Dawn members, who had gathered in the hours before their scheduled pickup time. Though the Soviet Union possessed a small and rather poorly equipped armed forces, it nonetheless had several military bases outside of the USSR's borders operating as training facilities. One such base lay directly below the current position of the Soviet supply convoy.
From the lead APC, one could see several White Dawn fighters waiting and it was only a few more minutes before the trucks had come to a stop. Without a word, but with simply motions, the trucks were unlocked and White Dawn soldiers began to unload the trucks, taking two men to carry the medium sized crates filled with ammunition, assault rifles, pistols and grenades, as well as a few machine guns.
There was no exchange of words or even of smiles or waves. The Red Army soldiers stood and sat patiently, many with no real facial expression at all, while members of the White Dawn unload the crates and quickly opened and inspected them before loading them onto their own trucks.
Within ten minutes, the entire process was completed and the Soviets began to head back towards the base.
=====
Svetlana Orcheka, a Major within the KGB, had just landed at the military base where John Greaves was waiting and was promptly taken to him. Dressed in a standard Soviet uniform, Major Orcheka carried herself confidently and without reservation. One could easily mistake her for a glamour model, her bosom filling her uniform well and her other natural features gathering much attention from ACL soldiers inside the base.
Finally arriving to where Greaves and another gentlemen were, Orcheka gave a sharp salute before beaming a wonderful smile.
"Major Svetlana Orcheka of the Committee for State Security of the Soviet Union. You must be John Greaves..."

| The Overseer grinned from behind his mask as the weapons were brought up to the assembly point.
"Fools, they sell their own doom."
Glancing to his right, he saw Tompkins sidling over to him. An annoying man, but a good soldier and commander, the Overseer bore a grudging respect for him.
"As you can see, Lord Overseer, we are ready to move. The Soviets are heading back to their base - we will have to move quickly if we are to catch the convoy."
"Go ahead, Lieutenant. Move silently and swiftly, strike with vengeance in your heart and bring glory for the Dawn." The traditonal battle cry of the White Dawn always boosted the men's morale.
"As you order, Overseer. 1ST, 3RD and 6TH SQUADS, LOAD UP INTO THOSE FAST TRANSPORTS! DAVIS, I NEED..."
Tompkins ran off towards a newly delivered stack of weapons, before grabbing a rifle and mounting an APC, stolen from AngloChinaLand just days before. The rest of the column began to move, as the sun rose beyond the horizon.
"Even dishonorable acts must be done in war. Attacking a rogue state - why, I'm even doing the Hyrulians a favor".

I am afraid we won't be staying long - I was hoping for a delegate from the Kingdom of Metz, but he won't be moving in for at least a week, perhaps not at all. I am glad to have you beside me... I mean, on the mission, of course". The political representative chuckled softly behind him.

| OOC: Could you keep your responses limited to one post, to avoid trouble with double-posting? Just separate what happens with bold type or a line or something.
IC:
The rising sun aided the onslaught of the White Dawn against the Soviets and, just as promised, there was only a token force guarding the base. Hardly any time was given to the troops stationed at the base to sound a general alarm or to even warn of an attack.
The fighting was brutal but brief and soon the base fell silent again, an occasional gust of wind breaking the silence along with the high-pitch siren of the base's alarm. In all, thirty-seven men died with the White Dawn taking two men wounded, none killed.
=====
Major Orcheka just smiled at the two gentlemen and resumed a more relaxed posture, dropping her bag and removing her cap. Though Greaves stammered a bit when he spoke, prompting a laugh from his comrade, he nonetheless stood proudly.
"Are we to leave now?" Orcheka asked. "I have not yet been debriefed."
"What I would give to 'debrief' her..." Greaves' political friend muttered softly so only Greaves could hear.
"Uh, yes...Well soon. We will leave soon."
"And our mission?" Orcheka asked.

| OOC: Yeah, sure, sorry 'bout that
IC: Tompkins surveyed the ruins of the Soviet base. A resounding success, he thought to himself, chuckling softly despite the smell of the corpses.
He himself had killed two in the battle, and taken a minor wound to the shoulder, one of only two men wounded in the battle. Davis estimated around 40 kills, although that number was still being determined.
A gust of wind brought a chill to his bones, and he looked towards the Soviet border far in the distance, cursing the chill wind it brought.
"Something to say, Tompkins?" The Overseer was like that - he could appear anywhere silently.
"Yes, my Lord. What is our next objective? I am surprised that we have not moved back to our base already."
"You... you are not returning to your base, Lieutenant. I am afraid that... well, I have seen fit to relieve you of your command."
Shock ran through Tompkins' body, as well as a pang of fear. "Yes, I do not believe that you are capable of leading this force to their next objective - you are too indoctrinated in the foolish customs of these people. Treachery is a part of war, and we are at war. These men go to the mountains, but not their mountains - the Russian mountains."
"You can't be serious, Overseer. I'll inform the Hyrulians, I'll sue for asylum, I'll..."
"Weak, Tompkins. Too weak."
The sword hissed as it left its scabbard. In one fell strike, it rose up and took the lieutenant's head.
Private Davis, rounding the corner, collapsed to his knees. "Please, Overseer, not me too."
"No, Davis, not you. You are in command now, Lieutenant Davis".
=============
"At the moment, ma'am, I have no knowledge of our mission. I do know that it is top secret, so you'll be needing a civvie outfit as well as covert weapons. The quartermaster will show you your supplies."
"We are going out on a mission, two people, and we do not know what the mission is?"
"Well, I assumed actually that you would be able to tell me more - the politician here assures me that all of the details were transferred to your military. I have not been told merely because that is standard procedure here, it seems. Anyway, once you are changed and equipped, please meet me at the vehicle depot at the north entrance of the base."

| "Ah civilian clothing...It give me such...freedom." Major Orcheka said as she picked up her bag, fixed her cap, and proceeded to a changing room.
"What does that mean?" the politician standing next to Greaves whispered into the spy's ear, lest his question be overheard by the stunningly attractive Soviet operative.
Greaves chuckled at the question, leaving the room and waiting for the major in another room.
Within a few minutes, Orcheka had changed into a more revealing outfit but the mens' imagination would be tested as the cold weather outside would force the Major to bundle up. Fully updated by the base's quartermaster about standard issue weaponry, Orcheka made her way over to Greaves and the politician at the north end of the base.
"Oh my..." the politician said a bit louder than he would have liked, taking note of Orcheka's new outfit and drawing another smile from the Soviet.
"I personally was not briefed about our mission", Orcheka began while handing a small folder to Greaves, "but I was given this information to be handed to whomever it concerns."

IC: Defender Fortress (Katechener's central command post) The Katechener military's Commander In Chief- Commander Nicola Fernley paced around the command centre she'd been doing that ever since President Jacobson had called her on the phone about some terrorist group believed to be hiding out somewhere in the region. Now while Nicola knew that it was important for Katechener to show the international community that it was getting back on its feet after violently overthrowing the previous regime two years previously Nicola really didn't think that it was helping matters to promise something that might only turn out be a token, the point being that President Jacobson had pledged support against this group calling themselves White Dawn. "What exactly does the President expect me to do?" Nicola asked aloud "We've got no intelligence on this group, all we've got is the telegrams sent from Great Anglochinaland." She turned to one of her subordinates "Get me the KMS Waterdragon" Nicola said "They're about to become a taxi service." OOC: Like I said I hope this is ok

"AHA!"
"...Greaves...are you OK?"
The voice sounded loud through the comms headset.
"I just worked something out. That message must have been sent late in order to reach us now. That means it was deliberately delayed, which means that someone wanted that base destroyed - the White Dawn. And that means that when we arrive, we will probably have company".

"Are you certain of this?"
"Yes, sir. It seems quite possible that the message we received was purposefully delayed. For all I know the base has been taken by the enemy and is not safe anymore."
"You have not left the ACL base yet have you?"
"No."
"Alright. I'll send this information up but I cannot guarantee that you'll orders will change. Keep this frequency open. I'll contact you later."

| The KMS Waterdragon was in appearance at least a typical Catamaran well that is except for the military stuff that was on the outside. The ship itself was transporting a cargo plane which was obviously in a hanger like area of one of the decks. Inside the plane were two people one was the pilot his name was Tristan Slater the other was called Sapyiat Kaltev and she worked for the Katechener Intelligence Division (KID) Also in the plane there was car. "Just remind me" Sapyiat said brushing a stray lock of her blonde hair from her eyes "What part of this plan sounds remotely sane? Because once the Waterdragon gets as close to Great Anglochinaland as it can, your going to fly me into territory which we know next to nothing about and parachute me and a very valuable car in there." "Just remember what you're meant to be doing" Tristan said "We know nothing about this White Dawn lot so we're gambling on being able to get someone on the inside." "Yeah just remember that if I get found out I'll be the one getting hurt or worse" Sapyiat said as a klaxon sounded and the plane started to move vertically up it was being taken to the launch deck. "Go strap yourself in" Tristan said "Once we take off it'll be about 2 hours to the drop zone" 2 hours later Sapyiat finished putting her parachute on over her black leather jacket "Any final words before you drop me off?" Sapyiat said towards the cockpit "Yeah Commander Fernley said to remind you" Tristan said "That whatever your misgivings are about them the Russians are our allies on this one." Sapyiat bit her lip slightly at that but she just hoped she wouldn't have to relive it. "The doors open" Tristan said "You can drop" "Thanks" Sapyiat said jumping from the plane and into a freefall while the car was sent out of the back of the plane it's parachutes pretty much already deployed. As far as Sapyiat could tell there was one major problem with this plan and it was that this was probably one of the least stealthiest arrivals in the history of espionage. | |

| OOC: Katechener, are you trying to join in with our people (greaves and orcheka)? If so cool, but please state exactly your intentions next post!
IC:The National Defence Commission headquarters, located outside of the main urban areas of ACL, was secured inside a deep bunker underneath a range of hills, with steel doors capable of withstanding huge amounts of pressure. It was also linked to every radar system in the country, including civilian ones. With ACL having a relatively small military due to its sheer lack of size, the radar system was the most important defense in ACL, able to give warning in advance and allow a Local Enforcement and Control Helicopter unit (Known affectionately as the LECHes) to move in and apprehend any suspects.
At the moment, the LECHes were tracking a small airborne object falling at high speed towards the ground.
"Sir, it appears to be a car".
The operator of the helicopters infrared systems was reporting back to a station operator.
"A car?" "Yes, sir... a car".
"Any markings?"
"No sir, none at all. If this is a stealth entry its hardly a good one."
"Ok, follow and report regularly. Do not engage and do not let him see you. We'll get ground units towards him and find out his intentions. Who knows, he could be one of these special service types just making an entry!"

| OOC: yeah ACL that's kinda what I was going for. And as requested here's the clarity IC: Sapyiat hit the ground about 30 metres from the car, the first thing she did was dust down her jeans then after removing the parachute harness she checked her pistol and proceeded to the car, she removed the parachute from that as well before climbing into the drivers seat. She knew the car was fast but that wasn't going to help her at the moment. She turned the key in the ignition and started to drive as she did so she took out her cellphone and slotted it into the holder. There were two numbers in the memory the first was an emergency number that went back to Katechener the second was the one she was interested in for the moment it was the number of one of the government departments of Great Anglochinaland well the numbers were public knowledge. She called the number "Hello" she said "My name is Sapyiat Kaltev I work for the Katechener Intelligence Division My orders are to assist your government in dealing with the White Dawn situation however I can. So what do you want me to do?" | |

| Greaves' question instantly brought out Orcheka's bad side. The nations of Katechener and the Soviet Union were relatively new nations within Hyrule and because they resided in small corners of the world contact between the two had been extremely limited thus far.
In matters concerning espionage and military intelligence, however, the Soviet Union for years had worked to infiltrate the political, social, and economic structures of different nations, including Katechener.
The Major and Sapyiat Kaltev had never met personally but had interacted with each other extensively through their respective intelligence networks, or at least as extensively as small, still growing intelligence agencies could. Major Orcheka, for instance, had been a prime target for Katechener attempts on her life after initial KGB operatives, especially the Major, were discovered by the Katechener Intelligence Division. Vice-verse for Katechener operatives uncovered in the Soviet Union.
"I know that she is not one to be trusted..." is all Orcheka said in response before resuming her efforts in changing and preparing herself for the mission.
