Lets fill in the blank!

In order to forum a more perfect constitution, we need to get gray areas filled out.

We need suggestions on the following:

1. The [SOMETHING] of Hyrule
   
2. Legislative Body needs a name
   
3. Should we change election periods
   
4. Any suggestions?
   

1.The Confederation of Hyrule, although I would much like a creative mind to think of something that would spell out HERO or something.

2.“The Senate” I don’t see anything wrong with that…

3. Perhaps we should maybe make each term only 2 months and have 6 elections during the year. That way all of the people that come and go can have a say or be a government official, but should they leave it wont hinder the government as their term would still go for two more months or something like that.

4.Nope! Just come up with a creative name for number 1!

3. Current election cycle (like that of the old forum) is adequate and does not need to be changed. A shorter term would be useless and would not allow an individual to properly establish themselves into the position.

I think that two months is enough time to accomplish anything really. Think about it. It hasnt even been two months since we have started the new forums, and already we have made it to where we are. And that is making everyythingg..when your a minister, your limited to doing what your jobs are...

EDIT: Perhaps we should consider the "dead" zones in NS, for example when school starts or whatever. Summer is always busier as people are siting around. So during the summer we have 2 month terms, during the more dead times, we have three/four month terms so that we dont have elections with no voters...if this makes sense to everyone lol

2: Community Senate (or Senate lol but I want to put more community and cut out the need for elected positions. We could still have the President of the Senate to be an elected position to moderate the process. We need to really talk about this subject.)

3: Metz, that's actually a pretty good idea for deadzone times. This is actually the busiest summer I have ever seen in NS.

4: I want to start a RP to choose the next RP Mod. What is the feeling on this?

2. I like Community Senate, just because it gives the idea that anyone can be involved

I'm sorry, but "Community Senate" sounds like a place for retirees or mentally-handicapped individuals.

Am I correct in guessing that this Senate will be a place for entire, community discussion? If so, I don't think you need to explicitly state it in the name. I believe providing a simple but straightforward description about how the Senate (or whatever we decide on) is a place where everyone gathers. I do believe we should have at least one elected position to manage discussion.

As for an RP to decide RP Minister...Bring it on.

Maybe The Hyrulean Assembly or Assembly.

But yes, modeling the old ancient House of Members.

Then we can keep President of the b l a n k (or another name if one is discovered)

The deadzone idea is great (even if for the fact that even though I'm in 10th grade I'm pretty much active all year round ) we should have the elections coincide with the big breaks, and have the different term names for each one: Such as Beginning of school to winter break is fall term, winter break to spring break is winter term, spring break to summer vacation is spring term. (If anyone actually got that, sweet!)

What about something like the "Hyrulean International Pact" or "HIP" as the name for the constitution or whatever...idk, its something a little more creative lol

Although I may be confused as to if we are naming the Document or the Technical name for the region of Hyrule itself....or does teh document name the region ??

We're naming the region, but the document will make that name official once it's ratified.

How about the Hyrulean Treaty Organization?

On a serious note, I do like "The Assembly" for the name of the all-inclusive legislative body.

I think there needs to be somethng more added to "The Assembly" such as "The National Assembly" or "The Assemly of Nations" or "The Governing Assembly" or something...

So where's everybody else?

I made an "Update TG" that SM is currently editing, in which I will send out to all memer nations of hyrule soon letting them know whats going on. Feel free to chack in out in the MoI forums. Its another something new that added to the ministry to help try and get more people on the forums. I will try and send one out once a month or every other month, kind of like a Foriegn Embassy update, except its to update our own members. So hopefully after they recive that we will get a few more people on here....

I'm here too, with my humorous take on things, as usual...

1. The Angelically Illuminated Kingdom-Empire of the Great Eternal People's Region of Hyrule ... or just "Hyrule" or the "Region of Hyrule" (why be so specific?)
   
2. "The Parliament" / "The Assembly" / "The Senate" ... in fact, nothing too fancy, just straightforward. But if I were the God-EMperor, I'd choose the People's Governing Body of the Grand Chamber of Hyrule
   
3. Deadzone FTW!
   
4. If we are to separate the region's government and the forum's administration, we should also be able to elect our (global) forum moderators. In this case, ministers are only mods to their specific subforum.
   

Regarding the 4th idea, I think SM's plan for the prime minister is that of an elected global forum moderator (although that position should be titled Global Moderator, accordingly ).

Well the PM is the Head of Government so everything dealing with government they can moderate.

Culture Mod is still left in limbo and RP Mod might be voted upon every 6 months in the admin section. I'm still debating on my next move. Lol.

The Nations of Hyrule, hereby gathered, do invest their powers into a Senate of one delegate for each Nation, presided over by a Prime Minister elected by and from the body thereof.

We need to get this moving forward! I'll post a revised draft of Preamble and Article I sometime tonight or monday.

I agree with most of the drafted constitution, including the need for "deadzone" extensions for ministerial positions. Noting the absence of a RP minister, who is to run that section should the position not be available in time for the next elections?

That's because Role Play is an administrative thing. It needs to be selected with care and not elected.

So I will just have to start making my choice. Have people sign up that want to be RP Mod and start a RP with them. I'll make a thread later this week.

Agreed. I propose "The Supreme Soviet" or "Council of the Elders" or "The Supreme Council"
...and... "The Hyrulean Confederation."

...so that I might say that the Technocratic Union is a member of the Hyrulean Confederation, governed by the Supreme Council. Sounds kinda nice....

The official naming is being voted upon right now. In the Art. 1/Preamble drafting thread, btw.

well when ever it becomes available...i would like to be minister of justice or minister of roleplaying or minister of overthrow lol
